ABOUT MS. AVILA:
Ms. Rhodaviv Villarosa Avila began teaching in June 2012 after receiving her undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Mabini Colleges. She was hired and is currently employed as a college instructor in Camarines Norte State College. She works under the College of Arts and Sciences Department but teaches students from all other departments English, Literature and other subject areas such as Philosophy.
For personal interest and development, she enrolled in the Graduate Studies Program of Ateneo de Naga University in November 2012, taking her Masters in English Language and Literature.
She was born to academicians Ramon B. Avila, current Education Programme Supervisor in-charge of Mathematics for the Department of Education Camarines Norte, and Lenida V. Avila, former college professor teaching Biology and other related sciences. Her circumstances brought about a love for knowledge which probably geared her towards areas that are not of her parents' expertise.
Her passion for languages and literature became apparent when she came up with a short paragraph written in English, her second language, detailing a "special" rock that she found during a swimming excursion with her parents and her father's students. Her parents were astonished by the level of fluency and discourse that their second grade daughter of seven years of age had in writing "The Rock", and so were their colleagues in the academia. This led to her quaint story being published in the college paper.

Since then, her love for language and literature has flourished. And it is this love that has led her to great achievements -- graduating class valedictorian in elementary school and with honors in high school; as well as receiving a Full Merit Scholarship to the University of Asia and the Pacific (which she had to unfortunately leave after her mother's death led her back home). She graduated college from Mabini Colleges with a leadership award, having been elected as Supreme Student Council President. She also received one of the top ten highest scores in Region V when she took the Civil Service Exam in May 2011.
Presently, her life and career goals include: enhancing her knowledge on subject of personal interest through extensive study on Linguistics, Literature, Communication and other languages; gaining worthwhile experiences whether pleasant or unpleasant which will hopefully contribute to a writing career; and to make her mother proud. |
